Trainwreck is a one of a kind pure varietal that is a favorite among both commercial and home grown farms. The characteristic that stands out the most when describing Trainwreck is its unmistakably pungent smell. Trainwreck’s smell and aesthetic profile are so unique, that you will easily recognize it in any wreck hybrids you may come across.
Trainwreck is very popular among recreational growers because it is very hardy and easy enough to maintain.
Experienced Trainwreck cultivators rate this strain’s growth difficulty as easy to moderate. Trainwreck plants have a high resistance to disease, and the good news is that you can grow this strain indoors and outdoors. However, if you are growing Trainwreck outside, you will need to keep these plants dry and sheltered from frosty weather.
Indoors, Trainwreck takes about 8-10 weeks to flower and produces a hefty yield of 18 ounces per square meter. Outdoors, Trainwreck is typically ready for harvesting between late October to early November and produces a bountiful harvest of 25 ounces per plant.

This highly coveted varietal was supposedly bred by two brothers in California back in the 1970’s. According to history the brothers mixed a Mexican strain and Thai strain with a Afghani strain to create this beauty. History also says that the name “Trainwreck” was given to this strain because there was a Trainwreck that happened close to the two brothers grow site which made them harvest the plants early so it wasn’t discovered by anyone. Trainwreck can be grown both indoor and outdoors but prefers the outside because of its unique genetics making it taller than most but burly because of its Afghani influence.
